Wealth and Poverty - not as simple as black or white

Hurricane Katrina has split open the land and the people. I think the thing that leaves me the most empty is that many black people believe that white people in this country don't give a shit if they live or die.

While my country is so overwhelming consumed by a women's right to choose - or a fetus right to life - we take no such concern to actual life of those who are already on the planet.

While my country is uber obsessed with who didn't do their job - no one seems interested in the cities around the country that have the same issues as New Orleans.

While my country is killing people in countries half way across the globe - no one is coming to bat for the people in Gitmo.
