Wilma's on her way

Wilma's on her way to Florida - they say by this weekend.

Being California born and raised Hurricane stuff is new to me. I had hoped my perfect plan of escaping Florida from July to October would prevent me from having experience one of these mega storms. So much for that plan. She's on her way - a cat 5 no less - in the ocean cooking herself up. The forecasters say her track is farther south than where we are - in Central Florida. Right now we're under a "watch" . . . The Key's however have been evacuated.

We are inland and north of Miami by 235 miles and that's good but no guarantee. Last year Orlando was hit 3 times, Charely, Frances and then Jeanne. The fourth storm to hit Florida last year was Ivan but it did not come into Orlando. When we came back at the end of September last year it was pretty bad - alot of signs down or blown out. Tons of trees G O N E - We were just saying last week how much things have started to grow back and be put back together. It will be a mega bummer if Wilma pays us (or anyone for that matter) a visit.

For now we've stocked up on our non-perishable items and water. Need to go get some instant coffee (Wilma will be nothing compared to me not getting my cafine fix) and charcoal or sterno. Maybe some more wine too!
