We just got back into yoga - Bikram's hot box yoga. 110 degrees, 26 poses and 90 minutes of total body concentration.
I really miss it. I used to do it three times a week. When hubby worked and was traveling all the time. I was alone in a new town and nothing to do. I started right after 9/11. I had done some yoga by DVD but wanted a class.
My yoga teacher used to say all the time how yoga helps tighten the screws in your head and I kept thinking no no no - I need something to help loosen them - everything is so tight it's going to pop! But ultimately he was right - I needed tightening - everything was too lose and bouncing around upon itself!
I had passed by the studio a numerous times, and stopped one day and picked up the brochure. I thought ok I'll give it a try.
It's not they type of thing that you just say I'll try it today. You have to prepare first. No food 2 hours before and hydrate by drinking mass amounts of water BEFORE class.
If you have never felt sweat come from your scalp you will in this class. Have you ever had sweat come out of your ears? You will in this class.
I've gone to only once a week because that's the only thing hubby will do and now that he no longer goes to "work" I'm stuck with a shared schedule. I'm tired of sharing my every minute. I don't want him to go away but I'd also like some more freedom.
